Confirmed Speakers at Warpstock 2001

Aside from the fact that you'll never hear the words, "OS/2? What's that?", the biggest reason for coming to Warpstock 2001 is to attend presentations from OS/2 experts around the world. To whet you're appetite, the Warpstock 2001 Event Team is pleased to announce several prominent speakers for this year's Warpstock conference.

In alphabetical order:

Gregory Bourassa will talk about XML in "XML processing on the OS/2 platform." Topics include an overview of XML and its applications, a survey of OS/2-compatible tools, and an example of creating and using an XML document.

Rainer Feuerstein will show you how to make your own CDs that can boot and load OS/2, even the WPS, in "Bootable CD-ROM's". Topics include support for LAN Requester and multiple configurations. This presentation is a must-see for all CD burner owners!

Patrick Gleason will show you how do implement proper multithreading in your Internet-enabled software in "Design of Multithreaded Internet Applications". Examples include a web server, an SMTP server, and a telnet client.

Achim Hasenmueller brings us up-to-speed with the coolest OS/2 tool in "ODIN - update and tips ~tricks." He then proceeds to show you how to decrease server downtime in "Co-StandyServer for e-business". If you're curiosity isn't yet piqued, then you definitely need to attend, "The Super-Secret-Project".

Richard Hawkins shows you everything you need to get the Internet-to-go in "Introduction to Wireless LANs (802.11b)." This presentation is a must-see for any laptop owner. Developers would behoove themselves to also see Richard in "Perl for Programmers", an introduction to the Perl scripting language on OS/2. Last, but not least, learn what it takes to support OS/2 in large-scale implementations when Richard talks about "Enterprise OS/2."

Uwe Hintz helps you connect printers to your LAN in "External Printservers and OS/2". The presentation concludes with recommendations.

Oliver Mark talks about the latest versions of OS/2 client and server in "Convience Pac 2" and "WorkSpace On-Demand V3" (with Oliver Stein). Anyone interested in learning about these new releases from IBM should definitely attend.

Alain Rykaert helps you implement large-scale roll-outs of OS/2 in "CID: Software Distribution" and "LSMT: LAN Server Management Tools". Both presentations cover several tools written by Alain that automate the roll-out process.

Darrell Spice, the OS/2 gamer's best friend, talks about emulation software for OS/2, including the numerous gaming system emulators that he himself has written.

Oliver Stein talks about the latest hardware support available in "OS/2 Device Driver Update." This important presentations brings you up-to-date on which new devices are supported under OS/2. Mr. Stein also helps his co-worker Oliver Mark in "WorkSpace On-Demand V3."
