The Board of Directors of Warpstock, Inc. are pleased to announce that officers for the Warpstock 2001 conference have been elected. There are four positions, President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary. Dan Casey is President. He has the nefarious distinction of being President of another well-known OS/2 organization: VOICE (Virtual OS/2 International Consumer Education). Dan has been using OS/2 since 2.0 and has been to the last three Warpstock events. When he's not advocating and supporting OS/2, he spends his time as a co-owner of a local home improvement company, family owned since 1947.

Luc Van Bogaert continues his role as Vice President. He started using OS/2 when Warp 3 was released, and has been actively promoting the operating system since then. Luc first got involved with Warpstock as a visitor to the Chicago event in 1998, and soon thereafter became Warpstock's web master. He was part of the Event Team for Warpstock 1999 in Atlanta. Afterwards, he was elected Vice President and was instrumental in the success of Warpstock 2000 in Philadelphia.

Stan Sidlov is returning as Treasurer for the second year. Stan has been a private OS/2 user since version 2.0 and a corporate one since 1.3EE. He also was the pickup chairman for Warpstock 1998, and the chair for Warpstock 2000. A programmer by profession on IBM Midranges and an IST manager in the computer field for nearly 20 years, Stan has still not solved the riddle of "This page intentionally left blank."

David Ameiss is serving as Secretary for the second year. David has been an OS/2 user and developer since version 2.1 and has attended all four Warpstocks to date - twice as a presenter and has the shirts to prove it! By day, he is a software engineer for Talarian, developing IP networking software for a variety of platforms. By night, he terrorizes undergraduate students at a local university.

In addition to the four officers, there are three other Board Members who assist the Officers in preparations for the next Warpstock conference. These members are Eric Erickson, Jason Kowalczyk, and Timur Tabi.

Eric has been involved with OS/2 as both a developer and user since the pre-release of Version 1.0. As an attendee the Chicago Warpstock he assisted with the network deployment and has served as Network Coordinator for the last two Warpstocks. Eric is president of Elvish Software Foundry, Inc. an OS/2 Development and Consulting Company serving the financial industry.

Jason has been using OS/2 Since Version 1.3 and supported over 1500 OS/2 Warp stations in a high availability environment. He has been part of the Warpstock movement since Warpstock 1998 as the Network/AV co-ordinator. Since then, he has been a member of the Board of Directors. Currently he is employed as a network engineer for Carrier Corporation in Syracuse, New York, supporting their world-wide network.

Timur has been using and developing for OS/2 since 1.1 and has attended every Warpstock conference. As with last year, his primary responsibility is writing press releases, including this one. Timur worked for IBM on the OS/2 development team, where he developed several multimedia device drivers such as the high-resolution timer driver TIMER0.SYS and the RTMIDI real-time MIDI subsystem. Timur currently makes a living writing Linux device drivers for Interactive Silicon, although he still spends the occasional evening creating OS/2 software.
