Ben Armstrong, Application Engineer at Connectix Corporation, is
a key member of the Virtual PC for OS/2 development team. Ben Armstrong brings
a wealth of knowledge with 10 years of OS/2 experience and a degree from the Queensland
University of Technology in Australia. Prior to becoming an integral member of
Connectix, Ben contributed to the development of accounting systems, software,
and systems support at Bacchus Management Systems, supporting a wide range of
business applications and operating system platforms. At Connectix, Ben is currently
working on optimizing Virtual PC for OS/2, as well as other future virtualization
solutions that will be brought to market.
Kendall Bennett, CEO of SciTech Software is the chief architect
of SciTech's products and technologies. Kendall Bennett brings a lifetime of experience
developing highly unique and powerful device driver solutions to SciTech. As the
founder of SciTech Software, Kendall also brings a powerful understanding of the
company's core values and its technological potential. For the past decade Kendall
has provided the vision and knowledge required pioneering the first ever universal
display driver which led to the creation of SciTech's latest product development,
SciTech SNAP technology.
Gregory Bourassa has a degree in computer engineering,
and has 13 years experience programming with and for the OS/2 environment, having
started with version 1.3. He has designed and built Expert Systems, simulators,
Web-commerce systems, document management systems, and various language parsers
and interpreters. His current activities involve XML, logic programming, parser
generators, Java, and telecommunications Element Management Systems.
Ron Capelli is a Senior Software Engineer at IBM Austin. Prior to
joining the OS/2 development area in 1995, he was involved in IBM graphics hardware
and software systems development for VLSI physical design and mechanical 3D solid
modeling CAD applications. He was technical lead for OS/2 graphics device driver
(GRADD) development. He worked on IBM Java 1.3.0 JDK development for AIX 5L on Itanium-based
systems (Monterey), and AIX for PowerPC. Most recently, he has worked on Java 1.3.1
for OS/2.
Doug Clark is part of the WarpDoctor project team
developing the new WarpDoctor web site. WarpDoctor is a project of OS2Voice.
Micho is a research professor at the Institute
of Mathematics of National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He also works
in a company Q-Systems, which is the Mexican distributor of eComStation. Micho has
developed some truly strange theories about quantum reality and space-time fluctuations,
but when he is in the classical mode, he is usually trying to remote-boot everything
from eComStation and OS/2 Warp Server.
Sam Emrick has worked at IBM for 20 years, worked
as a system software and network software performance specialist for 17 years, and
worked on OS/2-related software performance since 1988. He has several patents in
realtime system resource monitoring and system performance measurement software.
Sam's hobbies include sports cars and Boy Scouts. He's also a karate blackbelt and
instructor.
Daniela Engert
Daniela Engert is a Senior Systems Engineer at
Medav GmbH, Germany. After earning the Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
at University Erlangen-Nuremberg, she joined the company to lay the foundations
of the OS/2 development of systems in the area of industrial, medical, speech processing,
radio monitoring, digital signal processing and governmental applications. Experiences
with programming and developing hardware started back in the 70's. Busy with developing
the building blocks of these systems for about 15 years, the focus has shifted towards
the field of research and very early development stages now.
Scott Garfinkle is the lead programmer for the
OS/2 Change Team. He has worked in OS/2 service and development since leaving Ingres
in 1992, where he ported the Ingres Relational Database to OS/2 2.0.
Michael Kaply has worked for IBM for nine years,
in such areas as developer relations, product support, and development of tutorials
and help systems. He has been a member of the IBM OS/2 browser development team
since 1996. During that time he worked on Netscape Navigator 2.02, and Netscape
Communicator 4.04 and 4.61. He is currently one of the technical leads on the IBM
Mozilla team. He also serves as the platform owner of the OS/2 port of Mozilla,
as well as an advocate for IBM contributions to Mozilla. In addition to co-authoring
the book IBM's Official OS/2 Warp FAQs with Tim Sipples, Michael has also written
articles for magazines and spoken at numerous conferences.
Bill Kershner is a Network Computing Specialist for Starfire's Technologies
division and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems from La
Salle University. Bill's experience with OS/2 began in 1995 in the financial services
industry with the support and development of OS/2 Warp Server for variety of different
customer environments. Bill is an IBM Certified Specialist in OS/2 Warp Server Administration
and is also a Tivoli Certified Solutions Expert in the SecureWay Firewall for AIX.
Oliver Mark is Offering Manager for OS/2 related
Services at IBM Global Services Central Region. He has more than ten years of experience
in OS/2 and Warp environments as well as experiences with Warp Server, Warp Server
for e-business, Workspace On-Demand, CID Installations, NetFinity and Remote Access
Services. He holds certifications as IBM Certified Expert for AWarp 2.x, 3.x and
4.x, Warp Server and Warp Server for e-business as well as IBM Certified Instructor
for Warp and Warp Server. He works closely with TeamOS/2 in Germany and international
areas.
Chuck McKinnis retired from IBM in 1992 after 26
years as a systems engineer in large systems and communications. He is the author
of the eCS Maintenance Tool, NICPAK, and a contirbutor to RexxAutoStart. He has
been an OS/2 user since 1990 and has experience with Rexx that goes back to the
beginning of Rexx.
Founder and President of Cambridge Electronics
Laboratories, which designs and markets high-technology telecommunications equipment,
and a founding partner of PT Industries International Ltd, which is commercializing
a patented copper-pair line-testing technology. Concurrently since 1976, consultant
to many private firms, governmental bodies, international agencies and educational
institutions with Far East operations, concentrating in the fields of new business
development, new technology introduction, strategic planning, successful negotiating
strategies, and political risk.
Alain Rykaert has worked for 23 years at IBM Belgium
in various positions within technical support and marketing, for the past dozen
years mostly with OS/2 and related products. As a member of IBM's rapid deployment
team, he does large scale rollouts of OS/2 for european enterprises. He did several
residencies in Austin, and co-authored half a dozen Redbooks, mostly about LAN Server.
He is also an active member of the OS/2 community, including the Belgian OS/2 User
Group.
Greg Shah is a partner with Golden Code Development
Corporation, based in Atlanta, GA - U.S.A. Greg has over 13 years of experience
in the design and implementation of production-quality, mission-critical software
and systems. His skills include a blend of software development, systems engineering
and network engineering. He has led teams in the creation and deployment of highly
managed systems in enterprise environments containing many tens of thousands of
desktops and servers.
Brian Smith, Software Engineer at F/X Communications
has been writing communications software for over 10 years and has been writing
OS/2 software for 7 years. He has worked on a multitude of free and commercial software
including InJoy Firewall, InJoy Dialer, SciTech Display Doctor, Project Everblue,
OpenOffice, HandyFTP, Installer/2, BitchX, Gnome, FAT32, JFS4BSD and many ports
of Unix software to OS/2.
Darrell Spice, Jr. has been programming computers
since 1980 when he was introduced to a Commodore PET during his freshman year of
high school. The following year he obtain his first computer, a Commodore VIC 20.
It was soon followed by a C64, C128 and Amiga. His first IBM clone was purchased
in 1994 specifically to run OS/2 Warp. Darrell has ported Atari, Coleco, Sega and
Gameboy emulators to OS/2, which are freely available from his website at http://home.houston.rr.com/spiceware/
Richard Spurlock is the Vice President of Starfire
Engineering & Technologies, Inc. and is a graduate of the University of Kansas
with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Richard has been
deploying and developing for OS/2 since the 1980s. Richard focuses on creating ways
in which customers can effectively and consistently leverage their current and future
investments in network computing technologies that drive their businesses.
Oliver Stein has over 10 years of OS/2 experience.
Since 1992, he has held various positions in technical marketing and support in
IBM Germany's software group. During this time he managed the relationship with
independent hardware vendors who developed OS/2 device drivers. From 1999-2001 he
was the technical lead for server managed client solutions in IBM Global Services,
Germany. Since 2002 he is responsible for worldwide sales at InnoTek Systemberatung
GmbH, a german software and consulting company.
Jan van Wijk lives in The Netherlands and is a
software engineer with a background in DOS, OS/2 and NT system programming, system
integration, networking, communications and Web technology.
